Birth Doula Services

What to Expect

As a birth doula I support families during the labor and birth of their baby.  I do not replace your partner, I help alongside them and support them as well.  During labor I hold space for you and am there for continuous physical support, emotional support, and to help obtain information.  I do not provide medical care of any kind or give any medical advice.

I offer two to three prenatal appointments at your home where we get to know each other and discuss your values and vision for your birth (environment, energy, etc.), the general flow of labor, and practice various coping and movement techniques. During early labor I will join you at your home to assist you and your partner. As labor progresses I will be with you at your chosen place of birth to continue support until approximately 2 hours after the birth of your baby. I also offer one postpartum follow-up visit at your home to help you process the birth experience and to help answer questions about your healing, about your baby, or about feeding your baby. If needed I can also help you find support resources and can provide information for other providers that may be able to support you.

Birth Doula Support includes:

  • Access to me by phone/text for questions that arise during pregnancy
  • 2 Prenatal visits to discuss your values and vision for birth, and the flow of birth and various coping techniques and positions for labor
  • On call 24/7 starting at 38 weeks until baby arrives
  • Continuous support through labor and delivery
  • Staying approximately 2 hours after birth
  • 1 Postpartum visit within the first 2 weeks after birth, to make sure everyone is doing well and that breastfeeding is going well
  • Access to me by phone/text for questions that arise during the immediate postpartum period and beyond

I am also a certified Body Ready MethodSM Pro, certified in acupressure for labor and birth, a certified nutrition coach, and sugar detox coach.
